I have heard back…Grandma is having instant success with her camera. She installed the software and download pictures. She put the pictures on a floppy disk and took it to Sams Club to be developed. At Sams Club they told her she could bring in the card straight from the camera to be developed. The important note is that she is having fun taking pictures.

I am typing this entry on my mac. The last one was done on this mac too for that matter. I have always used Windows up until a couple of years ago. Once I started programming at Aztech I moved to a Linux work station. I like Linux a lot and would have stayed but I moved into project management and sales. I had to use a Windows machine to work seamlessly with office documents and the such.
When OS X came out for the Mac, it combined the user interface and applications that Mac has always had with Unix. For those of you who don’t know, Linux is a distant cousin of Unix. This means I can have the integration with colleagues on the Mac side and all the stuff I liked about Linux on the Unix side.
And then…about three weeks after I got mine, Amy’s laptop started acting funny. Files were getting corrupted and life wasn’t good. A stressed out mother with lots of homework has to be able to rely on her PC. What did we do? Bought her the new 12″ powerbook..
We haven’t received it yet, but I’m sure you’ll hear about it.
