Rachel Ray’s Lime and Honey Glazed Salmon with Warm Black Bean and Corn Salad

This is recipe 288 from Rachel Ray’s 30 Minute Meals 365: No Repeats. Don’t blame Rachel for the blackend salmon, that was our fault. The meal tasted good, I would recommend it.

My daddys taking me to the zoo tomorrow

The four of us took a quick jaunt 13 miles down Red Rock road to the Animal Ark zoo. I posted the pictures on flickr.com for all to see. It was very hot and required a lot of walking but it was fun. Not the best zoo we have been to but hey, its close.

Took a trip to Grandpa Sids

With the spring like weather comes spring like responsibilities (ie yard work). So today I went over to Grandpa Sid’s to mow his yard. This is a responsibility that I don’t mind doing as it gives me a chance to help my Grandpa. I remember when I was in my early teens I would go over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house and Grandma Fran would always urge me to help Grandpa with the yard work. At that time, my Grandpa had a very rigid system and the most I could usually do is help mind the electrical cord - he had an electric mower at the time.

Now each Spring and Summer, I go over once a week (sometimes once every two weeks) to do all aspects of the yard. I don’t mind since I have a strong back and can withstand the heat. Instead of a rigid system of “the right way to do things” he defers all decisions to me.

I also get an opportunity to spend quality time with Grandpa during these times. Often he asks me to help with some household items like today he bought a new cordless phone and needed me to help enter in some numbers into speed dial.

I know Grandma would be happy to know that I am not only helping with the yard but bonding as well. Grandpa Sid can’t help but to pay me each week as much as I argue with him about it. I try and use the money each time to take Amy and the kids to lunch or dinner as this is something that Grandma was fond of doing when I would go over to their house during the summer.

Anyway, Grandpa Sid is doing well - Strong like Bull.

Easter Photos…Finally

Here are photos from Easter. I have been super busy at work and with DisneyFrontier.com that this site has been a little neglected. Also, if you are wondering about Sharon’s site, the server that it was on is no longer working. I will get it up and running on a new server shortly.
